Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has revealed Alejandro Garnacho has apologised for his recent misbehaviour.

The United star recently got himself in Ten Hag's bad books after he 'liked' several posts criticising his manager on social media site X, including from talkSPORT's Mark Goldbridge, after subbing him off against Bournemouth.

The Dutch coach has since come out and said that the matter has been dealt with, after United branded the incident an 'internal' one.

"Alejandro is a young player and has to learn a lot," Ten Hag told a news conference on Friday. "He apologised for it and after that, we move on."

Garnacho was hooked at half-time against Bournemouth in a match that ended 2-2 last week and the 19-year-old showed his disdain by liking several posts on X criticising Ten Hag.

But his apology to the boss means he has escaped Ten Hag's strict law prohibiting players from taking part until they have said sorry for any lack of discipline.

It is the same rule that Jadon Sancho fell foul of, but the England winger failed to front up to the manager, leading to him being offloaded to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.

Marcus Rashford also infuriated his boss with a boozy session in Northern Ireland earlier this season but apologised for his actions and was brought back in the team.

It means that Garnacho will be available for Sunday's FA Cup clash against Coventry when they meet the Championship side in the semi-finals at Wembley.

And Ten Hag is hoping to be able to call upon Antony and Scott McTominay, who have both returned to training after picking up injuries recently.

"Antony and Scott, I expect them to be back," Ten Hag said.

"Scott didn't train all week -- partially on Wednesday -- and today [Friday] I expect him to be full. Antony did train all week.

"We have some problems. Harry [Maguire] had a small injury. He didn't train this week so far, but now he is back on the pitch, we expect him to be back for Sunday, I hope."

With Sancho helping Dortmund into the Champions League semi-finals after beating Atletico Madrid, Ten Hag was also asked about the Red Devils outcast.

"I follow international football and follow the players on loan at other clubs," Ten Hag said.

"It was a fantastic game, Dortmund against Atletico Madrid. A great performance from Dortmund and for Jadon it's good news, he made his contribution to the result for Dortmund.

"We know Jadon Sancho is a fantastic football player, so that is not a surprise for us. That is not the issue."
