West Brom want deal for former Ipswich Town left-back

West Brom want to sign AFC Bournemouth left-back Tyrone Mings on loan, according to The Sun.

The 25-year-old has started just twice for the Cherries in the Premier League and could leave on loan this month for more first-team opportunities.

However, Bournemouth are only willing to offload Mings once they complete a deal for Brentford defender Chris Mepham.

West Brom are keen on Mings to bolster their defence and give him some vital game time in the Championship.

Mings joined Bournemouth in June 2015 on a four-year contract from Ipswich Town for a fee in the region of £8 million. His time with Eddie Howe’s side has been affected by injury and he has managed just a handful of appearances in his four seasons there.

The 6ft 5inc left-back was on the books at Southampton and Bristol Rovers as a youngster before spells in non-league with Yate Town and Chippenham Town.

He signed for Ipswich in 2013 for just £10,000 and went onto break into their first-team. He impressed as a youngster for the Tractor Boys and went onto play 63 games for them. Mings was tipped for a big future in the game, hence why Bournemouth forked out big money to land him.

He would be a shrewd acquisition for the Baggies and he could get his career back on track at the Hawthorns. It is obvious that it is a struggle for him to get game time at Bournemouth, so a loan move to the second tier would suit both parties.
