Hull City set to land AFC Bournemouth winger on loan

Hull City are set to sign AFC Bournemouth winger Marc Pugh on loan, as per a report by Hull Live.

The 31-year-old has had his medical today and the deal should be concluded soon assuming all goes well.

Pugh has played three times for the Cherries this season, with all appearances coming in cup competitions. They are therefore willing to let him leave for more game time.

Hull are in the hunt for a new signings before the end of the transfer window. Pugh will provide some cover and competition on the wing for the in-form Kamil Grosicki and Jarrod Bowen. The Tigers’ boss, Nigel Adkins, is also keen on a new striker and central defender.

Pugh joined Bournemouth in 2010 and is currently in his ninth season at the club. He helped them rise up through the leagues and into the Premier League and has played over 300 games since his move from Hereford United.

The experienced winger started his career at Burnley but never made a senior appearance for them. Instead, he gained first-team experience out on loan at Kidderminster before joining Bury in 2005.

Pugh spent two years with Bury in League Two prior to being snapped up by Shrewsbury Town. He played 46 games for the Shrews before Hereford signed him.

Hull are unbeaten in ten games in the Championship after a remarkable rise up the table over the past month or so. Pugh will offer them more depth and quality in midfield which will come in handy if Adkins’ side are to push for the Play-Offs.
