Hull City are set to sign AFC Bournemouth winger Marc Pugh on loan until the end of the season, as reported by The72 earlier today.
The 31-year-old has had his medical with the Tigers today.
It will be interesting to see what role he plays at the KCOM Stadium. Hull’s current winger Kamil Grosicki and Jarrod Bowen are currently in brilliant form and Pugh is likely to provide competition and back-up to them.
Pugh has fallen down the pecking order with the Cherries this season and hasn’t played in the Premier League. He has made just three appearances, all of which have come in the cup.
He has got bags of experience and is a real fans’ favourite at Bournemouth. Pugh joined them in 2010 and was an integral part in their rise to the Premier League. He has played over 300 games for Eddie Howe’s side but obviously feels like he is ready for a new challenge now.
Hull City are an interesting proposition for the winger. Nigel Adkins’ struggled at the start of the season and looked set for a long campaign of fighting relegation. However, an incredible run of form that started in December has seen them catapult themselves up the league table from the bottom three to 8th.
Hull are now looking upwards to the Play-Offs. Here is how their fans have reacted to Marc Pugh being set to join them-
As a Dorset Tiger, with The Cherries as my local/second team, I can safely say that Marc Pugh would be an absolutely superb signing for City. Bossed the division when #afcb won The Championship, (just like Elphick), and always a source for goals and stacks of assists. #hcafc #UTT

Would be really happy if we got Marc Pugh, a crucial part in Bournemouth’s promotion and also not bad at times in the Prem. Only concern is he’s maybe not got the pace he used to have, especially for our counter-attacking style but should be a class player #hcafc

Pugh would be a good signing , good back up for the flanks and to come off the bench and close out games plus plenty of experience including promotions and eddie howe talks highly of his attitude and application #hcafc

#hcafc undoubtedly need cover in the wide positions but Marc Pugh is better than that – he’ll offer some genuine competition to Bowen and Grosicki if he becomes a City player
