Aston Villa in advanced talks to sign Brentford defender

Aston Villa are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Brentford defender Ezri Konsa according to Football Insider.

The Midlands side are still looking to bolster their central defensive ranks despite the £26.5million signing of Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth earlier this week.

They are looking to secure the signature of Konsa for a fee in excess of £10million from the Bees as they aim to add another centre back to aid their survival hopes for next season in the Premier League.

Konsa made 47 appearances in all competitions in the last campaign and pulled off a string of impressive performances which have bought him to the attention of the Premier League new boys.

Aston Villa have been very busy already in this summer’s transfer window having made six signings and they hope to add Konsa to the list imminently before they head away to America on their pre-season training camp later this week.
