Leeds United have been linked with a move for Burnley striker Matej Vydra in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Burnley striker was also linked to the Yorkshire outfit in the summer but Marcelo Bielsa opted to take Eddie Nketiah on loan from Arsenal instead.
This is a move that doesn’t seem to have worked for either club or player with the England U21 international not getting the game time he would have wanted. Patrick Bamford is currently ahead of him in the pecking order. Bamford has scored seven goals in the league so far this season.
Therefore, speculation has risen that should Arsenal opt to recall Nketiah in January then Leeds would go in for Vrydra.
However, Phil Hay has said on twitter that unless Nketiah leaves the club in January then Leeds are set for a quiet window and will stick with their current front line.
Vydra’s name been doing the rounds for the past week or so but that definitely won’t be happening. Leeds will stick with their frontline as it is next month provided Nketiah stays. #lufc

The former Watford striker has only made 4 appearances in the top flight so far this season and has so far failed to score. He has not scored a league goal for the Clarets in over a year. Then last time he managed to find the net in a league game for Burnley was during their 4-0 win against Bournemouth in September 2018.
Nketiah has featured 11 times for Leeds this season, finding the net three times.
