Charlton Athletic are bracing themselves for bids for Lyle Taylor in January.

The Addicks’ striker is a man in-demand going into the upcoming January transfer window, as per a report by Bristol Live.

Taylor, who is 29 years-old, has been linked with the likes of Brentford, Bristol City, Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest. His contract at the Valley expires at the end of the campaign meaning Lee Bowyer’s side are vulnerable to losing him.

He has been out injured for a lot of this season but has managed five goals in the eight appearances he has made.

The experienced striker has racked up over 400 games in his career and has been on Brentford’s watch list for a while now.

Taylor, who is a Monserrat international with six caps under his belt, started out with spells as a youngster with the likes of Millwall and Concord Rangers before joining AFC Bournemouth in 2010.

He then had loan spells away from the Cherries at Lewes, Hereford United and Woking before moving up to Scotland to join Falkirk in 2012.

The 6ft 2inc forward was prolific for Bairns, scoring 29 goals in all competitions which earned him a move to Sheffield United after a year.

Taylor then went on to have spells at Partick Thistle and Scunthorpe United before he joined AFC Wimbledon in 2015.

He scored 55 goals in 150 games for the Wombles and made the switch to Charlton in June 2018. After bagging 30 times in 54 appearances since his move, the Addicks will face a battle to hold on to Taylor’s services again this winter.
